What makes a hoe, a hoe ?

Pretty much everyone on earth has heard the term ‘hoe’ at some point now. Well what is it exactly ? Is there a concrete definition ? What is one supposed to look like  ? Well here’s what a few women we asked said:

“Honestly I think a “hoe” defines more of the person who is using it than towards the person it’s being thrown onto. It displays a level of jealousy, envy or dismissive attitude”

“…A HOE IS A HOE if we talking gardening tools …But a HOE (whore ) is A promiscuous person no matter the gender .. who sleeps with or makes excessive sexual advances to another individual who they have no ties with.. Paid or unpaid .. yous a hoe .”

“People only call those a hoe who have no ties and don’t conform to social beliefs. We are animalistic. It’s simple. It’s also called ‘Dating & Mating’”

“Mating process of natural desire of sex and intimacy. I think our bodies can withstand the stresses of sex physically now spiritually is a different argument. Not everyone has the same spiritual meter or capacity as the next so it’s up to that person to understand how much energy they can hold.”

Now when type “define hoe” into the google search bar the first thing you get is some dads in boots gardening. Valid.

If you start clicking around and you happen to land on urban dictionary, you get these definitions:

“Justin Bieber.”

“A trash bag who thinks who thinks having sex with only one person means one person at a time. Has sex with multiple people and thinks it’s ok to do that. Can be male or female.”

“Who sleeps with a lot of guys that girl is a Hoe.”

So ask you can see there’s quite a few definitions in just two different platforms. I didn’t find official definition so maybe it’s just whatever you make it.

What’s your definition ? Let us know in the comments !

Hoe, Holy

The mission of Holy Hoe Clothing Co is to spread love and freedom of expression for everyone through comfortable, affordable clothing. The vision is to harmonize spirituality and sexuality through fashion.

Throughout different interactions and from reading through forums and such I found over and over again that many people perceive most things to be mutually exclusive. They try to keep humanity simple, one dimensional, in a box. For example if you’re showing what they believe to be “hoe shit” then they’ll conclude that you mustn’t have an ounce of holiness in you.

People are extremely dynamic and most everything is on a spectrum. Just because you’re a hoe (so to speak because everyone has a different definition of what a hoe is) doesn’t mean that you don’t have any type of spirituality. Just because you are meek that doesn’t mean you aren’t powerful. Just because you’re shy that doesn’t mean you’re not garrulous. I could really go on forever.

You are allowed to be two things at once. You are allowed to be you in entirety.

Our clothing line is for those of you who refuse to constantly edit and minimize parts of yourselves to keep others comfortable. If you’re sexually liberated and you feel inspired in that zone and people say that makes you a hoe then fuck it, be a hoe. At least you’re a happy hoe and not afraid to show it ! If you pride yourself on following your holy book to a T and you’re feeling all godly then you should be able to represent that as well without fearing that people will judge you as holier than thou or accuse you of being better than them. But if they do get offended, so what ! That is their own personal problem.

For these reasons our first season, launching August 22, will be a line of Hoe gear and a line of Holy gear. Something for both ends of the spectrum ! Subscribe to our blog to stay tuned.

Sending you all love, light and peace,

– Bunny

Sex Workers Are People Too

A lot of people don’t believe that sex workers are real people. They believe that because of the nature of their work they deserve any malice that may come as a result (nevermind that the malice is only a result of their very way of thinking). Prostitutes especially perceived to be the scum of the human species.

So first of all, what is a sex worker ? A sex worker is a person whose work involves sexually explicit behavior; especially : prostitute. How to use sex worker in a sentence.

If you do a quick google search about sex work you’ll stumble upon a lot of talk about decriminalizing the field and considering a “real” form of work. One woman speculates this about why sex work isn’t legal, “It’s no coincidence that it is work associated with women which is often deemed not-to-be work, and therefore underpaid and undervalued. Like caring and domestic work, prostitution is a form of “women’s work” which involves us asking for money for something which, under capitalism and patriarchy, we’re expected to give for free.

Work is bad. Capitalism means we sell our labour in ways that often feel exploitative or alienating. More and more of us are doing precarious, low-paid work where we answer to a boss and  have scant access to labor rights.”

Another woman who is also a worker recently went live on Facebook recently to share her piece because she’s also tired of the derogatory comments targeted towards her and her field. “A lot of people don’t realize that men participate just as much.” “I have an onlyFans page…I’ve been a dominatrix before and I’m probably about to get back to it.” “I have an onlyFans and we’re not prostitutes.” She then lists out all the reasons she got to this point.

The main similarities between these two women and the millions of other sex workers is that they just want to work safely and they want to retain basic human rights.

Today we’re going to talk about consent. Because contrary to popular belief self-proclaimed hoes and hoes by reputation alike have real feelings. They have real minds that are traumatically affected by people who see them as sexual objects when they are not in a sexual mode. Outside of the sexual realm they have other human wants and desires. One of those desires is to stay safe.

Here’s what Planned Parenthood’s website says about sexual consent:

“Sexual consent is an agreement to participate in a sexual activity. Before being sexual with someone, you need to know if they want to be sexual with you too. It’s also important to be honest with your partner about what you want and don’t want.

Consenting and asking for consent are all about setting your personal boundaries and respecting those of your partner — and checking in if things aren’t clear. Both people must agree to sex — every single time — for it to be consensual.

Without consent, sexual activity (including oral sex, genital touching, and vaginal or anal penetration) is sexual assault or rape. Consent is easy as FRIES

Freely given. Consenting is a choice you make without pressure, manipulation, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Reversible. Anyone can change their mind about what they feel like doing, anytime. Even if you’ve done it before, and even if you’re both naked in bed.

Informed. You can only consent to something if you have the full story. For example, if someone says they’ll use a condom and then they don’t, there isn’t full consent.

Enthusiastic. When it comes to sex, you should only do stuff you WANT to do, not things that you feel you’re expected to do.

Specific. Saying yes to one thing (like going to the bedroom to make out) doesn’t mean you’ve said yes to others (like having sex).

You get the final say over what happens with your body. It doesn’t matter if you’ve hooked up before or even if you said yes earlier and then changed your mind. You’re allowed to say “stop” at any time, and your partner needs to respect that.

Consent is never implied by things like your past behavior, what you wear, or where you go. Sexual consent is always clearly communicated — there should be no question or mystery. Silence is not consent. And it’s not just important the first time you’re with someone. Couples who’ve had sex before or even ones who’ve been together for a long time also need to consent before sex — every time.

There are laws about who can consent and who can’t. People who are drunk, high, or passed out can’t consent to sex. There are also laws to protect minors (people under the age of 18) from being pressured into sex with someone much older than them.

The age of sexual consent is how old a person needs to be in order to be considered legally capable of consenting to sex. Adults who have sex with someone younger than the age of consent face jail time and being registered as a sex offender. The age of consent varies in different parts of the U.S. and in different countries. There may also be other laws that define the age of sexual consent by state.”

Who Was Jezebel

Today we shall honor a famous, if not the most famous hoe there is. The original hoe. Yeah, you know how I’m talking about. JEZEBEL ! Let’s see how much we actually know about this smutty harlot.

Now everything in this post is coming straight from the dome (shout out to my religious upbringing) with the help of Biography to fill in gaps.

Jezebel was either a Phoenician queen or a Phoenician princess (or a princess THEN a queen) that lived in the 800 bc’s. She ended up becoming the wife of King Ahab of Isreal (see, thanks biography). Jezebel was super pagan and worshiped the god Baal. Baal was largely know amongst the Canaanites as the god of fertility. From that alone we can kinda see where this going, amirite ?! *insert suggestive face and elbow nudge*

So anyway, she was like wild obsessed with Baal and the people weren’t having it. Her love of Baal over Yaweh or Jehovah got her hella haters. Then to make matters worst, she gets 800 Baal soldiers to come to Israel and murder anyone who served someone other than Baal.

So boom, it gets even more tense as a religious war pops off and someone from the opposing team plots to come kill her personally. His name was Jehu. So Jehu finally makes it to the palace right and Jezebel is already expecting him. She’s dressed to the 9s and her face beat by the GAWDS okay.

So the hoe shit comes in because some people (men) believe she got all dressed up to seduce Jehu. They assume she thought that if she maybe threw him some cooch he wouldn’t kill her. She couldn’t possibly just be getting dressed up for a dignified death.

How wild is it that the most infamous hoe shows no proof of being a hoe at all.

How do you think her reputation got so screwed ??? Let’s really talk about it !
